To be like Jesus 47

“And he said,

A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and too his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meat that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again: and was lost, and is found.” Luke 15 V11 – 32 AKJV

…there’s more

“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” Revelation 21 v6,7

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the lambs wife.” Revelation 21 v8,9

“And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as a crystal; And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, and emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eight, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was one of pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Revelation 21 v10-27

I know of a man, once alone and desiring a company of restoration. As he sat on a beach looking out across the gulf, a certain memory came of a poem he had seen at a house within the family. This story came to this man beginning the end of a certain journey, [all journeys are not good journeys, such as the journey of riotous living]. For many reasons of the journey had come and gone, and he found himself passing through the city called, Corpus Christi-which means-the body of Christ, and on a beach called Padre Island.
The poem spoke of the ‘footprints, footprints in the sand, reminding him of the story of another who had felt alone, and whom realized the true reason for the times of only one set of footprints in the sand, that is when Jesus was carrying the man through the difficult times. His turn in life came when the hope of Christ was restored to him, the next journey begins to build in a call to come home, to the home of the church of the Living God, in those who believe and know that there is hope beyond the circumstances of this world, and to know there is a place in heaven, described to a measurement unimaginable almost in the reality of this world, but assured in the ability to just look up in the heavens and see, we do not see the ends of the universe, and even more the universes beyond, but our God does.

…a prayer, sent by a child, and an expectant mother, and those once of the unseen order of Christianity, bearing in the mind, the soul, a passion for another, to another place long away from home…

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen” Mathew 6 v9-13

Lord, this day is yours. I thank you for the prayer, and a special prayer for those who sent it far away to one away from home. That one returned home, before he came home. I give you thanks, and pray once again for a renewed spirit of mind, … Amen

To be like Jesus 46

“Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. And the Pharisee and scribes murmured, saying, This man recieveth sinners, and eateth with them. And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my lost sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Either that woman having ten pieces of silver, is she loose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15 v1-10 AKJV

To be like Jesus. Shall I ask where have those others been, for I have not seen them in going on four years now? Those of the unseen order of Christianity, bearing in the mind, the soul, a passion for another.

To live, I am to move on from that control, desired from the depths of that process of thinking, and know that “I am” a child of God. By his redeeming grace “I am” his. That really has not been the question nor the concern but the real concern is the masses of those making the profession to which they bring little or no empathy.

Confused, by relying on an overload of information, maybe… unreliable, by an ever-growing dependence on the constant shifting affliction of materialism, maybe…deceived, by the constant need for inclusion or approval to give a false measure of assurance, only to find a place of what seems to be implicated as total solitude when in the depths of needing support or hope.

That is not the end, thank goodness, nor is it even a situation that we have to contend with. As I said before, “I am” a child of God. The very faith of drawing a breath from what cannot be seen in the air gives life. Life is good. Beyond that, the hope of helping others to know even a renewed spirit in life. Have I fallen short, absolutely.

-the ability to understand and share the feelings of another…

-perception in the absence of judgement with a view to obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding…

Just above, the definition of two words derived from a google search and how closely related they can be, the two words, empathy/discernment. Both share some measure of what Christianity could bring, but far above in the writing lay the most simple, action innovated solution for experiencing these two deeply implied spiritual connotations of Christianity.

To be like Jesus. …I have seen some, just not the expected ones. Our Lord is merciful, and those who have been wondering-where have I been-the release…maybe. I press on, to the fullness of restoration, my measure of many is enough already, distorted-the plumb line cannot be made crooked.

Even I, Lord, keep in me the the right understanding…

“And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like the oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.” Daniel 5 v21 AKJV

I am so very thankful for those who have gone before me. I am so thankful for those you have sent to me over a lifetime. I pray for those, and even me who need to go where you would have us to go, as we say we are guided…Today, the stranger I encountered from a far away place, even tells me of her thanks to those who have gone to the far away place, in your name. Their song of the people, “We are so very, very, thankful for all that you have done for us.”

As we pray, this day, the restoration of our nations church, let it be found with great empathy, and great discernment, and that is beyond the words. Amen

“And there went great multitude with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill: but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” Luke 14 v25-35 AKJV

To be like Jesus. Trust God.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1 v6 AKJV

Holey, beyond even our own selves is to trust the Lord, and he will finish what he has began with our lives. While many things and people in our lives are of extreme importance, our first importance must be him in order for him to bless the things and people in our lives. Trusting in his way, will bring blessings to the ones we love.

“Set your affections on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3 v2 AKJV

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3 V15-16

Lord, this day is yours. We thank you for all the blessings you have added to this day. Bless those we love this day with your peace. Amen

“And when one of them sat at meat with him heard these thing, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. Then said he unto him,

A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a place of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray the have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind, And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.” Luke 14 v15-24

“And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19 v9

“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither what-soever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Revelation 21 v27

>..Question is, What about you?

Lord, this day is yours, your word stands as it is, always before, always now, and always after. Prepare our hearts to walk with you, We give you praise this day. There is no given territory to the enemy of the cross. A day will be when all will be what it is. We give thanks to you for this day. Amen

“Then said he also to him that bade him,

When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.” Luke 14 v12-14 AKJV

To be like Jesus. “the resurrection of the just”-what does that mean? to what measure is the just, just….?

“Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.” Amos 7 v7 AKJV

Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land fail, Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsying the balances of deciet?” Amos 8 v4,5 AKJV

To find the balance in today’s murkey world of morality. The true balance has been swayed back and forth for political balance and deciet seems to have been played into the very word-morality-, and under an attempt to be all inclusive.

I heard a minister this past Sunday-Sabbath- tell of one way to heaven, through, by faith, accepting the grace of Jesus Christ.

Leading to Godly repentance, meaning a desire to repent due to the change God has made in ones life, is the true measure of just being just.

Lord, this day is yours. I thank you. Amen

To be like Jesus 42

“And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,

When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Luke 14 v7-11

Do not seek the highest recognition and in time what is purposed will come, and without shame. Our house, the Lords house, neither is a place of competition to reach above another. Our world, our culture, implicates a strong passion to be better than others through competition, through job recognition, through political recognition, and almost every other aspect of society. One strives to be better than the other in every part, and then finds that another soon is put in their place. Thus the cycle continues with wrongful jealousy and conflict.

To do the work, and advance as the Lord has given is an awesome thing. People develop trust and confidence in the Lords way and testimony, true testimony is given. In the hour of true need, others find refuge in this.

and the word continues…

“And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Luke 18 v9-14

Shall we continue in sin? No Will we not have faults? Yes …and there’s more…

Lord, I study your standards, your precepts line by line. We search your word and find assurance in eternal life only in you. As righteousness is woven thread by thread in us of you, it is not of us but of you. I thank you, that you can in us build a society and a culture with hope that comes from you. Simply put, “be merciful to me a sinner”. Amen

To be like Jesus 41

“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” Proverbs 11 v14

“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.” Proverb 14 v14

To be like Jesus. The very connotation of ‘To be like Jesus’ for me imply’s a desired standard of Christianity, but much more important than that is to know him. Scripture teaches that those following the teachings of Christ and his disciples does result in being called Christian. TBLJ1

“And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christian first in Antioch.” Acts 11 v26 AKJV

Today, as always before, there is no shortage of those who can tell others the life to live. There still is even a strong community of many who seem to have separated themselves in a righteousness that does not totally belong to God. The council of those will one day be weighed in the balances of the almighty, the same as each one who stands before the Lord.

“And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.” Luke 13 v22-30 AKJV

One man once met another in a far away place while staying in a boarding house. A long story short, the purpose of the divine appointment in that old boarding house led to a lifetime of spiritual testimony and possibly testimonies. The only reason that was possible is the through the grace of God, one of them was allowed by faith to accept that grace. By that Grace a renewed life began once again, and strength beyond measure was the portion given, because the almighty new it was needed. In that same move, there were others at the man’s home far away that benefited from the same grace allowed the man, the family carried on and thrived to new levels. Life still came, decisions were still made. Many were good decisions, some came with the education the world offers which can be difficult at times. Day to day, they lived and because of God’s grace no threat was able to overcome them. TBLJ 39 It is amazing, the impact, the circle of one Christian in a boarding home, and the prayers of many others brought to the life of the other man and his family. The best any of us can do is from the last wrong, from that point on, work to be right.

Lord, renew the renewed this day, it is your day. Amen
