“A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of host unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? ” Malachi 1 v6
A search for the gift that keeps on in anothers life, what could that be? We look for that thing that is of a physical state and that is all good for it’s purposes and hope they love it. God looks to those who love him to honor him and bring praise to his name. Here he is speaking directly to the priest who offer sacrifice to him on behalf of others .
On into the next chapter of Malachi, he speaks of Levi. He speaks of Levi’s reverence, and how the law of truth was in his mouth. The law of truth was in his mouth and injustice was not found in what he spoke. He walked in peace and equity and by doing so turned many from iniquity/a life of sin.
A messenger shall come, “like a refiners fire, and like a fullers soap” and when has purged them” “then shall the offering …be pleasant to the Lord”.
The gift of mercy and grace comes from the Lord, with a message that penetrates the heart to live as he would have us to live, not of our own self righteousness but to learn of him and live.
