Today’s Meditation 1/6/2018

a random verse…

“My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, .thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savor: and thus it was, saith the Lord..” Ezekiel 16 v19

“My meat” -God’s blessing’s and provisions of life he has blessed us with. Where do we go with them or what do we do. This verse is like a reminder to them, or a calling out of their recognition, to understand he found them as he did many of us in a spiritually destitute and some even in a physical and financial destitute place in life.

As I look back on the years of my own I remember climbing many mountains, literally, with groups of people who wanted to conquer the same mountains. As we ventured to more and more places some of the number of people became fewer and fewer.

On a mountain near home one day, as we ascended up the mountain, my legs were hurting with intense pain and a couple of the younger folks , my son and nephew, had already passed me by and were way ahead of where myself and grandson. We were climbing a trail that seemed straight up and my thinking on the relentless pain wouldn’t ease up, then what seemed out of nowhere as song came from my grandson’s lips, “We have been washed by the water” he sang. That word and song of encouragement was to me inspired by God through my grandson to let me know who had taken care of me so far, it was the Lord. We climbed along a beautiful creek up the trail of that mountain, he saw the washing of the water. His praise was the thanks to God for the washing of the water and the outward song was an invitation for me to join into the praise.

Prior to today’s verse it is written like this-“Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.” The Lord has blessed us with all things and I am greatful.

One of the mountains, the tallest one, my son and I climbed twice, just to say we made it to the top. Another we climbed with intentions of staying over night, that didn’t work out well due to bear hunters in the area.

We have had a lot of experiences in life so far, some were good from our eyes and some were more challenging. It is in the good times when we need to remember how God has brought us this far. We have been “washed by the water…”

May you be blessed today and bless the Lord with your blessings. Amen
