“And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the Lord toward Israel.” Numbers 32 v14
Moses here speaking to the tribes of Israel, in a type of warning not to abandon God’s plan and increase the anger of the Lord toward’s them.
Earlier on in the chapter Moses question was “Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?” He shared with them the discouragement brought on to others by such decisions would spread.
Later in the same chapter it is written this way-“If ye will do this thing, if you will go armed before the Lord to war, And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the Lord, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him, And the land be subdued before the Lord: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the Lord.”
It is a difficult thing to realize there are enemies who wish to do people harm or to think others don’t see life as we see it. We are truly blessed by our faith in God which drives us to our trust in him even in difficult times. As we move forward, in blessing’s or battles our faith in God should remain one as his plan for us all is manifested together.
As some may grow weary on this journey of life we are on, help us also to work in strengthening them and others. Just plain tired, worn on by the stresses of finances, jobs, physical ailments, mental stresses, and …. Lord, help us today find our rest in you. Amen
