“Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, an I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.” Jeremiah 20 V9
As the extreme trails of Jeremiah pressed upon him because of his stand on the word and how he witnessed the word being continually ridiculed or mocked he seemed to grow weary and said he would not “make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name,”. He found in his going that this would not work because the word of the Lord was in his heart “as a burning fire shut up in my bones,” and he grew tired of his own tries of restraint and could not hold back. He “heard the defaming of many, fear on every side.” and saw that some was waiting to prevail and take revenge on him.
He was moved forward realizing “But the Lord is with me as a mighty and terrible/awesome one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper; there everlasting confusion shall not be forgotten.”
Jeremiahs trials did not end, at times they grew even harder yet he remained with the word of the Lord God.
Lord, we know there is much to know about life that is as yet not know to us. We know your mercies and strength are good because we have seen them in our own lives even as we have seen and experienced the travails of many. I thank you for your word and help me to be continual in my working to hide your “word in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” I know Lord that as your word is in my heart, my desire to share that will increase by you to others. May all be blessed, in your name. Amen
