Today’s Meditation 2/26/2018

a random verse…

“And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.” Luke 11 v39

Jesus here made a strong point of what is right. As he continued he said, “Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make also that which is within also? But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you. But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgement and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not leave the other undone.

There are times when we all wonder just who it is others are trying to impress and for what reasons. The greatest impression we could make on another or others is to have the ability to take care of the outside responsibility’sĀ and go beyond that and live in the right spirit of Christ Jesus and let him work from the inside.

Lord, help us understand your ways as we work to take care of our own responsibilities. As we go into the community of work, school, and other let us work diligently at understanding our commitment and follow through with that. As we walk with you let us understand even more of what true justice is and how it is applied in life and let us share your love as we bring the message of repentance to those we cross paths with. Let us not strive for self righteousness but your righteousness. We pray this for ourselves and for others today as we continue to travel. Amen
