To be like Jesus 24

Today

“And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say,

This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall be no sign given it, but that of Jonas the prophet. For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the south shall rise up in judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is hear. The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.” Luke 11 v29-32 AKJV

The great wonders, the great signs, this is what people do look for. Only to point at them and claim the wonder. Repentance is key to right judgment, without it where would we be. If the call to turn from wickedness was not more than an impetuous emotional grab, where would we be. Jesus said,

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whososever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men to do so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Mathew 5 v17-20 AKJV

Today, the joy of the Lord is knowing he will by his own grace redeem us from our sins. His mercy endures to the reaches we cannot see. The joy then becomes our service to him which in turn serves all of humanity in this world and the eternity that will come.

To be like Jesus. The rain is here today, the challenges of the day will come, at the end of this day. Lord, let me be as thankful as I am now for the day. Let us hear your word. Amen
