To be like Jesus 39

Today

“The same day there came a certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee. And he said unto them,

Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day shall be perfected. Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” Luke 13 v31-35

To be like Jesus. To a make our plans is one thing, to know that God has a plan for our lives is another. Many tell others to do this, and to do that, and much is good council, but to understand God’s calling is to know that he will direct the one he has called.

No position on a pedestal is worth compromising God’s plan. One of the main reasons is that another is usually desiring the position on the pedestal. Life is good, although short. Life is precious. Life is sweet. The journey takes it’s own values to pass on, reflected of the one who lives in us.

Lord, as we seem challenged on every side, remind us of you and that this is your day. Amen
