To be like Jesus 110

Today

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me,

Fear not; I am the first and the last. I am he that liveth, and was dead, and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1 v17,18

Many scholars and well learned people do write of the Lord, and of all his journeys in life, and in death, and in resurrection. All agree, as I know, that he made these journeys as the Son of God, and the Son of man, for the purpose of the church-the body of Christ. Those “whosoever” will choose to serve him, by faith and through his grace be over-comers in this world.

“That whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3 v15-17 AKJV

Jesus did not come as weak. He came as the Son of God and with that the authority to carry out the will of the father to every end. Kindness is often portrayed as weakness by the adversary but in the end the goodness of God prevails with the sovereignty of God. His love for all of mankind-whosoever.

“And Jesus answered and said unto him,

Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my father which is in heaven. And I say unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Mathew 16 v17-19 AKJV

Lord, let me begin in me to bind up the things of this life, this earth that are of this earth-the stuff, the things, the wrong thoughts, the worry, the anger turned to bitterness, the words I speak that are hurtful or wrong, and so the other things that work against my relationship to you and my witness to others-and on your authority-put more trust in you, and walk in your ways through this journey of life.

Jesus is the vine, the lifeline of eternity.

“I am the true vine, and my father is the husbandman. Every branch that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15 v1-5 AKJV

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hath professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his time he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords; Who hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen” 1 Timothy 6 V11-16 AKJV

Lord, of this day much can be written and has been written. Help me Lord to know and live-walk in your ways…

“Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgements of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word.” Psalm 119 v9-16

Victory-is in you Lord. I thank you for all that has you have done. I thank you for all that has gone before us and been used of you for your written word to us. True goodness and true mercy is of you Lord. We thank you.

“And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the to other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye, therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen” 2 Peter 3 v15-18

Lord, this day is yours. Amen
