“And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2 v1-5 AKJV

“Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2 v6-9 AKJV

How do I know about me? My inner person guided by the things which effect both inside and out. Our thoughts guided by the vast amount of information that has become available, and along with that the thoughts of each individual that seeks to influence life in some way.
What is the driving force? The wisdom of men, as well and awesome as it is, cannot begin to measure the depth of universes and existence except to the most minute scale. Smaller than a “needle in a haystack, even smaller than the point of a pen when compared to the understanding of God.
The beginning of wisdom beyond those measures is to know Jesus Christ. To know him can be more than an outward act, yet is confirmed in an outward profession of him and by faith a life lived with inward actions that become the evidence of Jesus living in us. We fall short of righteousness, almost daily. His love goes beyond that “falling short” to keep us moving in a direction of travel that brings honor and glory to him, and gives us good life.
