To be like Jesus 257

Today

And the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true judgement, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hosts. Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts: But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.” Zechariah 7 v8-14 AKJV

Lord, let us pray that our ears will hear what you are saying to us through your word. Let us not take more than what we should hear, nor less than what we should hear-but the perfect balance of what your spirit is speaking to us through your word.

Let us execute true judgement-let us hear your law-in our decisions about all that we do. Let us shew mercy and compassion to our brothers, Let us not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor-let us not imagine evil against our brother.

Let us hear further into your word-

“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be a peace with him.” Proverbs 16 v7 AKJV

Lord, we know all that we have is yours, and we are charged with honoring you with such as we have. We thank you that our hearts can be made in the way you would have them as you guide us through the decisions in this life. Let our ears hear.

We know that what is right is not always easy, and also that what is easy in not always right. Help us Lord to put what we have in your trust. Amen
