And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colosians 3 v16, 17 AKJV

To understand what this means, one must understand that the word is the Spirit of God manifesting itself to you. Gods purposes will come through relationship of understanding the wisdom of his word-not just parts-nor parts that seem beneficial for the moment-but the whole word. If you say you will do something, follow through and always be thankful to God.
