Today’s Meditation 1/13/2018

a random verse…

“Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:” Romans 9 v27

God will finish the work he has begun. In a prior verse it is written like this, -” (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to the election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth:)  and in a later verse like this, – “For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: …”

You have heard it said, -his purposes are not our purposes and his ways are not our ways…” . He will have mercy on who he will have mercy, and his long-suffering or understanding is much greater than ours. That being so, in his wisdom we will go to be with him.

May we all seek his ways, his understanding, and live as he has purpose in our lives. Meditation is a difficult thing at times when so many other things are pulling at us, but I find that time with him brings other things into proper perspective.

Lord, help us to put our minds upon you. Bless all those I think of today in a very special way. Amen

Today’s Meditation 1/12/2018

a random verse…

“Son of man, because Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:” Ezekiel 26 v2

In our weakest moments, God and his ways are our refuge and our strength.

May you all be blessed in him today. Amen

Today’s Meditation 1/11/2018

a random verse…

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:” Mathew 25 v 31

Jesus will return for those who are living their lives in expectation of his return. He came as the Son of God and walked and lived as the Son of Man on this earth. He redeemed those who will choose redemption through him becoming the sacrificial Lamb on the cross and then the resurrection.

His glory will be recognized and honored wholly on the day he returns with the holy angels. His holy throne will be of his glory.

A few verses down from this one the scripture reads – “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”

Lord, heavenly father, prepare our hearts and our lives to be ready for your return. Amen

Today’s Meditation 1/10/2018

a random verse…

“Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:” Nehemiah 12 v 31

A time of dedication becomes a time of celebrating a finishing point of the wall and a starting point of new assignment to them desiring to celebrate the accomplishments. The wall of protection and restoration to the nation of Israel under Nehemiah’s work was a great accomplishment, but even better, a part of God’s plan.

One of Nehemiah’s greatest challenges was to stay focused on the wall and finish that work. He was challenged many other ways during the process by both internal and external forces against him but he stayed the course.

May God help us to stay the course in his way for our lives. Be blessed today, Amen.

Today’s Meditation 1/9/2018

a random verse…

“Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?”       Matthew 26 v3

Beyond ourselves, are those who are right among us. In a city of sixteen million it seems you may know no-one, but in a city of five thousand it seems a lot of people know you. What is our obligation to all of these or any of these people? Who is watching?

In a coffee shop on Sunday morning and approached by a man for some change, did he get some? In a pizza shop with my family and see a man turned away because of his stature in life, did he eat? A man in a rest area on the side of the highway, did he get gas money? A hobo, dumped from the train with his bag passing him by, did he get help?

Does life bear down on us so hard as we reason to right, are we missing God? Of course there is the enable’rs, and some become the co-enable’rs, and then the narcissistic. Wow, the world has a way of putting us all in some category. The win comes with us because we are “over-comer’s” of this world.

By our faith we have become the children of God, and his spirit will bear witness of that in us and to us, “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world…”. As our spirit bears witness with the Lord we learn of him and how to walk in his paths.

Lord, heavenly father, as we walk in this world and see so many along the way; Help us Lord to walk your walk, only to share the Love you have given us in the way we can to others. Let us know Lord the right spirit, the right time, and the right action of our decisions towards others. Lord, let us never forget to “pray always,” in every situation for you guidance and let us remember to give you thanks in all things,  because we know that “all things work together for those that Love you.” Lord, as we go through this life, let us “minister unto thee” as we see you in many that may be “hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, …” . Amen

Today’s Meditation 1/8/2018

a random verse…

“And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the Lord toward Israel.” Numbers 32 v14

Moses here speaking to the tribes of Israel, in a type of warning not to  abandon God’s plan and increase the anger of the Lord toward’s them.

Earlier on in the chapter Moses question was “Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?” He shared with them the discouragement brought on to others by such decisions would spread.

Later in the same chapter it is written this way-“If ye will do this thing, if you will go armed before the Lord to war, And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the Lord, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him, And the land be subdued before the Lord: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the Lord.”

It is a difficult thing to realize there are enemies who wish to do people harm or to think others don’t see life as we see it. We are truly blessed by our faith in God which drives us to our trust in him even in difficult times. As we move forward, in blessing’s or battles our faith in God should remain one as his plan for us all is manifested together.

As some may grow weary on this journey of life we are on, help us also to work in strengthening them and others. Just plain tired, worn on by the stresses of finances, jobs, physical ailments, mental stresses, and …. Lord, help us today find our rest in you. Amen

Today’s Meditation 1/7/2018

a random verse….

“That they shall drive thee from men and thy dwelling shall be with beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.” Daniel 4:25

Lord, this day and every day, let our praises and thanks be unto you. We are dependent upon your ways, and your plan for our lives. Forgive us in the shortcomings and failures of our own. In all of our abilities we still come up short, but in our weaknesses you are strong and we thank you.

Let us Lord not be “found wanting,” after all the blessing’s you have given us like the king would be as we read on into the chapters after today’s verse. Let us be measured only by your grace, and your forgiveness. Lord forgive us of any prideful ways we may have, in your name we pray, for ourselves, for our families, and for all others today. “…weighed in the balances…” by the measure of your grace. Amen

and let us never take that for granted. Amen

Be blessed this day and pray one for another as we pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Amen
