“And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? And he answered and said unto them,

I will ask you one thing; and answer me: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? But if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. And Jesus said unto them,

Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.” Luke 20 v1-8 AKJV

“Then come Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him,

Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.

Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Mathew 3 v13-17 AKJV

“This is my beloved Son” -Son of God,: “the heavens were opened unto him…the Spirit of God…like a dove…lighting upon him”: as it was as John baptized Jesus. and there’s more-“my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” said “a voice from heaven.” Lord, I thank you that those always seeking power through rule’s bent for their purposes, driven by the adversary, do have to step back when your Spirit of goodness come’s to the scene. Amen

“And when he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; Saying unto them,

It is written, My house is a house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of all the people sought to destroy him, And could not find what they might do to destroy him: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.” Luke 19 v45-48 AKJV

Return to prayer. Amen

“And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying,

If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass the round, and keep thee in on every side. And shall lay the even with the ground, and thy children with thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of visitation.” Luke 19 v41-44 AKJV

As the Lord leads do we follow? Jesus was looking at the city in which he was about to be welcomed as a king, and then sentenced in the eyes of men for no wrong doing. His words even then reflected the idea that men of the world were failing to understand what brings true peace. He knew the world would bring havoc when his people fail to recognize God.

There is a huge difference in the peace of this world and the peace of God. This world offers a false peace only for a short time until it can turn on individuals and nations. Gods way is a different way.

“The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. There is a way which seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Even in laughter the heart is sorrow-full; and the end of that mirth is heaviness. The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident. He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated. The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

The poor is hated even of his own neighbor: but the rich hath many friends. He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good. In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly. A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies. In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rotteness of the bones. He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death. Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverb 14 v11-34 AkJV

“For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slipeth, they magnify themselves against me. For I ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me. For I will declare mine iniquity: I will be sorry for my sin.

But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is. Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me. Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.” Psalm 38 v15-22 AKJV

I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then I spake with my tongue, Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreath; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.” Psalm 39 v1-6 AKJV

“And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it. Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity.

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.” Psalm 39 v7-13 AKJV

“I Waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40 v1 AKJV

“And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them, And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

And they said, The Lord hath need of him. And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen.

Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them,

I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” Luke 19 v32-40 AKJV

The journey continues to which there will be no end.

“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even and for ever. The zeal of the Lord of host will perform this.” Isaiah  9 v7 AKJV

Lord, bring your peace today to those who are yours. Let us put our faith and trust in you as the challenges of the adversary come because we know that in your time true “judgement and justice” will prevail. Amen

“And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. And Jesus answering said unto him,

It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Luke 4 v9-12

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37 v23 AKJV

“Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.” Psalm 37 v34 AKJV

Lord, I thank you for this day. You are the keeper of my brothers and sisters and it is them I pray for today. Many are experiencing the heaviness of this journey in physical ways of their bodies and I ask you for your touch on them this day. We know our father, owns all the possessions we will ever have need off. We thank you this day. Amen

“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I will give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him,

Get thee behind me, Satan: for it i written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Luke 3 v5-8 AKJV

“And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said,

How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said,

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18 v23-27 AKJV

Lord, this day is your day. Help me to keep your priorities my priorities, and not just those but the little things as well. Amen

“And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone to be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying,

It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Luke 4 v1-4 AKJV

At the most vulnerable moments is when temptations will come. Some when we are hungry and thirsty, others when we are filled and not paying attention. Even in the garden the tempter came,

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of the tree of the garden?” Genesis 3 v1 AKJV

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen” Mathew 6 v13 AKJV

Lord, prepare us this day for this day’s journey. Set our hearts and mind on you, and your ways. You are our fortress against all the challenges that are higher than us. This day is yours. Amen
