Today’s Meditation 12/24/2017

“The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;” Jeremiah 25 v1

God speaking to Jeremiah at a certain time concerning people of a certain time, how does that relate to us now? Well, reading a few verses ahead and after this verse adds more to the relationship of us and God as well, right now. God spoke to Jeremiah so he could guide the people into a choice of either honoring Gods ways or not, and what the results would be. He used the example of two baskets of figs, one would turn out to be “the good figs, very good;” and the other would turn out to be “evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten” and both had a destined future based on how they turned out.

God wants us to hear him, and act upon what we here. “hearken” is the word used in the text.

My thought’s today have been on Christmas, which is coming tomorrow, and we celebrate the birth of our savior.

They also have been on this journey of life that we are on. At times, it seems difficult to say the least. This year alone, experiences in my own life and the circumstances that surround have driven me to think of what is driving people to do what they do. We have experienced some major setbacks that no one needs to know about, and won’t, but we have kept going. We have made some bad decisions, but we manage to keep going. As we get a little older I can feel the deterioration of this flesh and body realizing just a little bit 🙂 that mostly by my own choices my ability to do things I used to do have become more limited. I still believe I can change some of that with better choices if I only will.

The choice that the prophets of the Lord came with was simple, honor God and be blessed, or choose the alternative and live with the results.

Even in the most dyer circumstances, to know God is to know peace. Just like the children of Israel-when I think I can do it all on my own-I am reminded that I need the Lord. I love being a servant to him and his word, even though I fall short way to often. I ask you Lord for your ever-loving forgiveness and guidance through this day and the rest of my days, and I ask this for all those I know and come in contact with as well. Amen.

May the Lord bless you today.

Christmas is 2 days away, Counting today and tomorrow, it’s tomorrow 🙂 11 pipers piping

Today’s Meditation 12/13/2017

And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.” Luke 19 v17

Jesus taught in parables (examples of life) and during this particular time he was teaching to those who thought the kingdom of God should immediately appear, so he used the example of a “nobleman.” There was a lot of discontent with the nobleman and people hated him and some refused to serve him.

This particular servant had taken a pound and gained ten pounds with it by trading. Jesus taught that this mans work would be rewarded because he had been faithful over the “very little” he was given and caused it to grow he would be given authority over ten cities.

For some time now, I have tried to focus on three major area’s of life, physical, financial, and spiritual. The challenges of  built in cultural influences make the task difficult at times to say the least. I work not only for survival but also to pay debts that we have accumulated by our own decisions. We are always looking for healthier ways and choices but also allow outside influence to set us back at times. Spiritual is the greatest blessing of our lives, we work and study, and understand that failure is not an option. Christ Jesus and his mercy lives in us and surrounds us every day, but we also know we are required to make an effort with what we have been given. He will multiply those efforts.

May the Lord bless you all this day.  12/13/2017

Today’s Meditation 11/29/2017

“Thus saith the Lord unto this people, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the Lord doth not accept them; he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.” Jeremiah 14 v10

Lord, help me not to be prideful. Set my feet, my ways, my thoughts on you and your ways. Lord, I know that there are things of this day, in this world that challenge who we are as Christians. Forgive me Lord, for the simple things I should handle but fail to do. Help me Lord to take better care of myself physically, help me Lord to think on you rather than some of the thoughts and words that I may think or say throughout the day. Lord, strengthen me to be strong and faithful to you, amen. 11/29/2017

Why I Write

As I searched for the right words to begin describing these writings, many single words came to mind. Words like trialogue, discernment, life, humility, virtue, vice, insight, simple, and several others entered  my thoughts. Not one word became a good standalone description of the posted writings, all of them touch on the description of some spiritual places life has taken me with family at my side for much of the journey. I pray that through these writings deeper insights will surface for the blessing of others, understanding all the time that every person has to own their own walk in life. The writings are written with great passion for the reader to grow closer to God first,  and to others all around them as well.20161119_143829

We are still on the journey that began a long time ago, finding the lasting parts that will be for eternity.
