“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, and he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in hi. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.” 1 John 3 v18-24 AKJV

by faith…

“Wherefore? Because they sought not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 9 v31-33

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that beleiveth.” Romans 10 v1-4

“At that time Jesus answered and said,

I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.” Mathew 11 v25,26

Lord this day is your day. I stand as I am before you, and I thank you for your mercies and your grace. My stand alone is weak but in you it is made strong, not by my doings but by yours. My failures shine out at times to me in my own heart, and I ask of you to strengthen my faith as I put my trust in you this day-and I know that you will, it has been done every day before now as I live by you. Hear the prayers for my family today, your hand be with them. Amen

“Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the theif would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” Luke 12 v35-40 AKJV

To be like Jesus. Gather ourselves in him, strengthen ourselves in our faith, trust him in our faith, and let that be known unto others that we are to be watching for his return. Our strength is in the almighty.

“To whom then will ye liken unto me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest of Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40 v25-31

This day is the Lords day, let me remember that. Lord, our day is in your hands, forgive us where we have failed and hear our prayers. Let nothing stand between us and your ear to our prayer. Let us hear what you are saying to our answered prayer today. Reduce the one who is our adversary to your purposes today and give strength to your purpose in us and others around us as well. Our humility is in you, and not in the world as it would like to see. Amen

“And he said unto his disciples,

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for you life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed lie one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Luke 12 v22-34 AKJV

Do not worry. Understand, their is more to life than just food, clothing, or any other material goods. Work is better than worry, and even better than the rewards of work is the fullness of understanding many of the things of God. His peace for one, passes all the understanding of the world. Knowing life comes from him provides a foundation to live on that cannot be matched.

To understand even in the literal sense that life is a gift from God is a huge strength of our faith, provided for his purposes. We will live in eternity with him in an existence of his holiness.

Lord, I thank you this day for your mercy, your grace, your forgiveness of our sins.

“All the ways of man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.” Proverbs 16 v2 AKJV

“And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him,

Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

And he said unto them,

Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

And he spake a parable unto them, saying,

The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12 v13-21 AKJV

To be like Jesus. Turning loose of the things of this world seem more difficult than it should at times. There are so many right reasons to try and hold onto ‘stuff’ longer than we really should. We convince ourselves we are doing it for others most of the time, and of course that is true, but what we fail to look at is-What are the others going to do with it?

The world culture today is inflamed by commercialism to the point that no person is in control. The culture driven marketing pushes everyone to the brink of thinking they always need more. It takes them to a place of being owned by creditors until they either loose what they have or break free from that bond. This also drives the coveting spirit within our societies. To be able to turn all that loose is a burden that is pleasing to the Lord, and to ones self.

Broken all the way down, a lot of finger pointing accusations would be thrown around so starting with first things first-

Let us be glad when our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. … But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. … And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither what-soever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Revelation 21 v7-8, 27 AKJV

Lord, help me to get the right things right, even more than just doing the right thing. Forgive us where we fail and bless this day, it is your day. Amen.

“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are more valuable than many sparrows. Also, I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him, but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.” Luke 12 v4-12 AKJV

as I seek to understand the people I open the word further…

“But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. But the Lord of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause. Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the evil doers.” Jeremiah 20 v11-13 AKJV

Lord, this day, help me to understand the other mans cause, give me the wisdom to speak to it in a way that you are pleased. Forgive me where I have failed, and strengthen me in your hand against the enemy of the cross. It is by faith I stand and I to am thankful for your forgiveness and your fortress. Keep me Lord in your way. Amen

“In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all,

Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.” Luke 12 v1-3 AKJV

Be aware of those who fix things to make them look good in their own ways. Nothing is hidden that will not be known. The walls we hide behind at times to speak out of turn seem to have ears, and those things spoken will be heard by others. Confession is good for the soul.

“I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes. Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously. I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame. I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.” Psalm 119 v26-32 AKJV

Dear Lord, Our father which are in heaven, as you provide for us this day, forgive where we fail or have failed-(hear our confessions), let us not be tempted above our measure. Suppress the one who is evil against us, for we are yours by faith. Strengthen the right spirit within us that we to will stand against the challenges of our faith, not only for us. Help us to understand we stand in our faith as a testimony to you that others may see your salvation as well. I boast not of myself but my strength is only in you, I have failed and fall short of many expectations, even my own. Lord, my only real strength is in you, and I thank you even for life. Amen

To find rest on the day of rest.

“Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also. And he said,

Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres. Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perishes between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of you this generation. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering ye hindered.

And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.” Luke 11 v45-54 AKJV

Our first resting place is in going to our father, pray, “Our father which art in heaven”- TBLJ 21, He will give us rest in him “seek and ye shall find”, -TBLJ 22, his strength, his peace, his looking after us is stronger than anything we can provide on our own, “hear the word of God, and keep it.” -TBLJ 23 To know him, learn of him in finding the right righteousness in our hearts/soul “except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” -TBLJ 24 We are in one unity with Jesus, “when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light:” Our joy, our peace, our rest is fulfilled when we see him in us whole, because he is Holy. Our world offers many alternatives, we see them with the physical eye, we see with our ears at times what we hear, and all of this leaves impressions on our minds. We can avoid ungodliness that takes influence in our thinking by resisting, walk away, we don’t have to partake of much of what the prince of this world offers, and we will be happier for it. Peace of mind. -TBLJ 25 We can know who we are on the inside, and it will show on the outside. Jesus stood firm against the show of right when he knew a lot was wrong on the inside. TBLJ 26

Today, to be aware of those who draw you into endless conversation, and wish heavy burdens-laws upon others that they themselves cannot live up to. Many seek to draw on every word for trickery and deception, hoping to destroy the righteous, but the Love of God, the discernment of his spirit, which lives in those who have by faith accepted him will prevail. Those who know Jesus will have a kind spirit to show even when the love of correction is necessary to lead one away from destruction. The beauty of the Lord is knowing that he truly is in control. We do all we can do, he will take the rest, and we can find rest this day in knowing him.

Christ Jesus, Our confessions come to you, your pardon comes to us.

Lord Jesus, our roads seem weary at times but I know our peace is found in you. Thank you for this day. Thank you for all that you have done for us. I thank you the path is set at peace when we trust in you. Amen
