“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2 v12
The greatest confirmation of God is the spirit in which he lives in us. The spirit of Christ Jesus is greater than any other thing that has the ability to inhabit our lives.
Thank you Lord this day. Amen
“If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his ointment, and with his skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.” Haggai 2 v12
Lord, we thank you for your mercy and grace, and this day. Amen
“Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.” Zephaniah 2 v9
It is those who “dwell carelessly” or have contempt for who the Lord is that are handed by their own hand the fate of destruction.
Lord, be with us this day and let us find our peace in you. Amen
“And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech: which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.” Jeremiah 32 v35
The “children” of Israel and Judah chose to do the things, even in God’s house, that he had told them not to. They brought idolatry to Baal in many ways-“cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire”-of pagan worship. Those nations were scattered among many nations because of this.
God, through Jeremiah, went on to put it this way. “Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, wither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and their children after them:” .
Lord, help us this day to take down the things that hinder us, especially in your house. Help us Lord to bring respect and honor to you in the way not for others to see our great effort, change our heart to the mind of one heart that we know we are in you. Amen
“Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.” Ezra 9 v12
Shall we just move on from our transgressions or shall we find a place of repentance and pray that we know the steps of moving forward.
Lord, we thank you for all your mercy and your grace. Teach us your ways in the sincere truth of your word. Teach me and guide me in your righteousness. The crossing over point from teaching to acceptance Lord we all need help with. Help us all this day Lord and we are very, very, thankful for what you have done. Amen
“And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.” Ezekiel 47 v12
Where the river flows their is life, there is also the quality’s and gift of providing life for others from the same river. It is not a man that can work the rivers start and end in the way that God does it around our world. That is the same as in our own spiritual lives. Jesus said it this way-“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
As we travel this journey, we can know there is more to come. There is a city, a holy city, which yet another river will flow. “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.” and all are invited who will come.
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him come and take the water of life freely.”
Lord, this day hear our prayers. Our family’s deal with many things on this journey, our friends are in need of you as well in many ways. Let us hear what you are saying to us in our own personal lives, heal the wounds and let us walk with you. Lord, we pray today for a small child who has a large mountain to climb, be with her Lord. Amen
“But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in king’s houses.” Mathew 11 v9
Jesus spoke hear to “all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.-But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.”
Jesus was clarifying the difference of understanding people and also those who we put of faith and trust in. He made the distinguished difference of one “clothed in soft clothing?” or the one in whom he was baptized by on this earth who had the appearance like this-“had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins;”.
Scripture points out the significant difference in appearance connected to lifestyles, and the one dressed fitting the lifestyle of one not accepted by the other was the one who Jesus said this of -“Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist:”…
The questions here was to point out the importance or unimportance of dress or even more- the insignificance of the importance of reputation gained or achievement in this life. The point was that those who receive Christ and bring the message of Christ is far more significant in Heavenly treasures than any status achieved on this side of Heaven. It is a great thing to accomplish much in life, to do well and accomplish much because mostly it can be used for the greater good, but the most significant thing is this,
to know-,Jesus-“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:” – and to let this be the reason we do what we do.
Lord, help us this day to follow you. Amen
