“But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Luke 11:42
Jesus. He sees the inner heart beyond “the outside of the cup“. The convictions (not condemnations) of the spirit of Christ is an awesome thing, the condemnations yet another.
Lord, help us to know your inner peace and that inner relationship to you so that we can live out the outward actions in our lives. In this verse the rebuke of tending to the things of this world in the way of ownership and tithes was and is necessary, but even more important is taking care of what has ownership of us, the spirit in which we allow ourselves to live.
Dear Heavenly Father, let us walk with you this day in the light of your word and in the spirit of you. Amen
“When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?” Mathew 25 v38
Jesus. As the righteous stood before him he asked the question, When did we see you? He taught that even as “one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me?” His purpose was to see all men treated well, especially in an hour of need.
Lord, in this area we ask for wisdom and understanding to come beyond measure. There are times when it seems we only aid someone in enabling one to do even more harm than good to themselves or others. Then there are the times when we know even all people need some help. Help us Lord to do better as individuals, as the church, and as a nation especially in these areas.
It seems we depend on what our stocks are doing more than what you can do when we align ourselves with your purpose as a nation. Help us Lord in our right relationship with you. In you Lord Jesus we find our absolution, let us cherish your word and your ways. Amen.
“And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” Daniel 7 v14
Our God Reigns-by faith we follow him, in the heavens we see his work and in our lives we are thankful to him for life itself.
Lord, help us to make the right choices that fill our lives with the abundance of your living you have for us. Let us bless others and enjoy the fruit of life as we go. Amen
“Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.” Lamentations 4 v8
True sorrow is visualizing the reality of price of knowing to do good and not doing it.
Lord, today, let us understand your ways. Let us respect the priests/preachers, all those of your calling. Bring to them as well the place of your calling in a renewed way as needed to guide your church and our nation to a place of strong reverence for you.
“Thou, O Lord, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation. Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time? Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days of old.”
Let the blood of our circulation be renewed as a renewed spirit of you in our hearts. We bless you this day, O Lord. We come to your throne of grace in boldness, but with the humility of the joy of walking with you, forgive us this day and help us Lord with a renewed spirit of forgiving others. Let us stand when we need to stand. Amen
“And they departed from before Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah.” Numbers 33 v8
The Journey. Gods guidance is immanent to our arrival. He knows just how much to fill the cup of life. We pass through the waters sometimes but he holds the balance of circumstances as all things work to the good of those that love him. With his guidance our help to one another comes, sometimes even like the “voice of one crying in the wilderness” to bear witness of the one more powerful than us, “the voice of truth“, Jesus.
Lord, let our walk and our relationship to you start with repentance, and strengthen our faith daily as we go through this journey. Let us be very, very, thankful for what you have already done and give us the strength to trust in you every day. Amen
“When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:” Luke 11 v21
To trust God. As we keep our own abilities intact, there are at times life that seems stronger than we are which comes as one stronger than us. As we stand with the Lord on our side, by rights of the right spirit within us, he will keep us.
Lord, help me today to stand where I need to stand and to treat others accordingly. By your grace we are loving to love in the name of Christ Jesus, your name. Amen.
“But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11 v28
Many blessing’s come in life, including life itself, yet it is even more blessed when we “hear the word of God, and keep it.” It is not of us hearing so much in a way we just understand a rule, but hearing in a way we understand the rule that keeps us. When we are weak he is strong. God is always at work around us.
Lord, bless all those who are looking to you today as I know you will and you do. Lord, let us understand as you speak to us through your word the ways of keeping it to honor you. May you be lifted up from the inside of our cup as it overflows of you love and understanding, not of the outside of the cup which is only the vessel to which holds the inside. Amen
