Today’s Meditation 1/28/2018

a random verse…

“The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:” Daniel 4 v11

Shall we ever loose sight of who God is? I would hope not. This great king had grown to great measures of wealth, prosperity, and strength before the people and a dream came that troubled him with visions in his head. He sought through many avenues-“the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: … but the did not make known unto me the interpretation…”- the answer to these troubling visions and thoughts. Daniel (i.e. Belteshazzar) also was troubled by his interpretation because it brought news of great change.

The great tree, the nation/kingdom (i.e. the tree) would be cut down to a stump, destroyed to a remnant of people. In this greatness the King was driven out from men and lived with the beast of the field until … “thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.” At “the end of the days/time … Nebuchadnezzar lifted up …” his eyes “and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that live for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, …”

Lord, I thank you that you do not hide the truths from me. Let me be found worthy of you by your spirit living in me, not of myself and my way. Lord, I thank you that you are in control and forgive me for my not understanding. Amen
